3 STANDARD DESIGNS
Research should be undertaken to establish specific needs in specific wards and districts. The data base thus established would identify typical requirements, and prioritise those structures most in demand.
Standard designs can be established (e.g. standard classroom that can be combined to create a block of the required number), and from these can be calculated the exact quantities of specific materials that will be required. It would also be possible to establish, using the same basic designs, the manpower requirements, material requirements to be provided by the Ministry of Rural Housing & Social Amenities, and those materials to be sourced by the community or end user.
The following Types are to be used for indicative purposes. Specific end users may desire a housing unit in a location not indicated below, and provision of the desired alternative would depend on the ability of the end user to meet the costs. In "semi urban" locations such as Business Centres, Rural Business Centres and Growth Points, Biair Toilets constitute potential health risks, and the available land for a housing unit may not be sufficient for a traditional kitchen and/or Hczi. Thus these would be omitted unless specifically requested, and dependant on the site being large enough.
